Summer Institute instructor profiles Impractical Jokers in Globe

Reporter Juliet Pennington, an instructor for Boston University’s Summer Journalism Institute, offers an insight to the popular program “Impractical Jokers” in her latest profile for the Boston Globe:

“As a teenager growing up on Staten Island, N.Y., James Murray had a poster of his childhood crush Danica McKellar — Winnie Cooper from the television show “The Wonder Years” — on his bedroom wall.

“His three best friends from high school were keenly aware of his infatuation, and decades later embarked on a mission to humiliate Murray in front of McKellar.

“That is, after all, what they do.”

Julietwill return this summer to the institute, teaching high school students core journalism skills while they experience campus life and explore Boston. Applications are now open.
