The New England Center for Investigative Reporting (NECIR) at Boston University is seeking an energetic go-getter to both market and administer our training programs in investigative reporting. Duties include:
- Develop and execute, with assistance from executive director, annual marketing plan for student programs — to include mailings, promotion at conferences, social media posts, online advertising, and website content.
- Manage logistics for all trainings, including summer workshops for high school students.
- Manage, with the executive director, the finances and expenses related to trainings.
- Manage reporter intern program, including marketing, applications and on-boarding.
Required: One to three years of relevant work experience in publicity, marketing, event planning and/or execution of event and program tasks. Position is full time and based in Boston, only.
NECIR is a nonprofit newsroom seeking to strengthen democracy through the practice and preservation of investigative reporting. Its stories are published by WGBH, WBUR, Boston Globe and other major media partners, as well as on its own news site, The Eye. Its training programs serve high school students during the summer, mid-career reporters, journalism teachers, and journalists working in emerging democracies around the world.
